What am I not able to buy on my own?
Some of the funds we use cannot be bought directly by individual investors. That is not a sales pitch — it is simply how certain institutional fund classes work.
What you get access to
Dimensional (DFA) funds — built on decades of academic research — are available only through approved advisors, not on retail platforms. Institutional share classes of other funds carry lower expense ratios than their retail equivalents. Working with us puts both within reach, alongside the low-cost Vanguard funds we have always used.
Why it matters
Lower fund expenses are one of the few things in investing you can actually control. Every basis point you don't pay in fund expenses is a basis point that compounds for you — so that more income flows to you and not the fund companies. Over a 25-year retirement, the difference is not small.
An honest caveat
Access alone is not a reason to hire an advisor. Excellent low-cost funds from Vanguard are available to anyone, and we use those too.
Institutional access is one more tool — not the whole toolbox. The value comes from how the funds are combined: the allocation, the diversification, the tax management, and the discipline to leave a good plan alone.

FREE TAX PLANNING REVIEW
Are you paying more in taxes than you need to?
Do you wonder if you are taking advantage of all the tax planning opportunities available to you? Does your current advisor review your tax return? If not, you are most likely paying more in taxes than you need to — money that you could use for your kids’ or grandkids’ education, charitable donations, early retirement, or something else that matters to you.
